How Advanced Conservation Systems collects, uses and protects your information.

This Privacy Policy explains how Advanced Conservation Systems, Inc. ("ACS," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information — through this website, when you become a customer, and when you talk with us by phone, text or email.

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Information we collect

  • Contact and identity details — your name, email, phone number and service address, when you request an estimate, book service, apply for a program, or contact us.
  • Property and project details — information about your home or business, roof, electrical system and equipment, including photos our team takes on site, design plans, permits and inspection records.
  • Energy information — utility bills you share with us and, if you authorize it, usage data from your utility (see Utility usage data below), and production data from solar or battery monitoring systems we install or service.
  • Contracts, payments and financing — signed agreements, invoices and payment records. If you apply for financing or for a program that requires it, we collect the financial and identity information that application requires (which can include your Social Security number) and use it only to process that application.
  • Communications — messages, emails and texts with us, and notes from calls. Calls with us may be recorded or transcribed for quality and record-keeping.
  • Website data — device and browser type, pages visited and similar technical data (see Cookies, analytics and advertising).

How we use your information

We use personal information to respond to your requests; design, price and propose systems; prepare contracts; apply for permits, utility interconnection, rebates and incentives on your behalf; install, monitor and service your equipment; process payments and financing; communicate with you about your project; keep records required by law and for warranties; improve our services and website; and, where you have agreed, send you marketing. We do not sell your personal information for money.

Utility usage data (Green Button)

If you authorize it through your utility — for example Southern California Edison's Green Button Connect My Data program — we receive your electricity usage history: interval readings and billing-period usage for your service account. We receive it only after you approve the request on your utility's own website; we never see your utility username, password or payment information, and our access is read-only.

We use this data for one purpose: to size and design your solar, battery or energy-efficiency project and to estimate and verify your savings. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing or share it with anyone else, except service providers who help us perform that design work on our behalf (and who may use it for nothing else), or when required by law.

We keep usage data for up to 12 months from the date we receive it, then delete it automatically. You can revoke the authorization at any time — through your utility account, or by contacting us using the details below — and we will stop receiving new data and delete what we already hold. Usage data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored securely.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number, we may text you about your estimate, appointments, project and account. Message and data rates may apply; frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out at any time or HELP for help. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes, and text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only as needed to do the work you hired us for, to run our business, or as the law requires:

  • Utilities, permitting offices and program administrators — for interconnection, permits, inspections, rebates and incentive programs you take part in.
  • Financing partners — when you apply for financing through us.
  • Equipment manufacturers and monitoring providers — to register warranties and to monitor or service your system.
  • Service providers who operate our business for us (for example customer-management, hosting, e-signature, email, text-messaging, payment and scheduling tools). They may use the information only to provide those services.
  • Advertising and analytics partners (Google and Meta) — website activity, only if you accept cookies; see below.
  • Others when required — to comply with law or legal process, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or sale of our business.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies and without identifying you. Only if you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner do we also load Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which use cookies to measure how the site is used and how our advertising performs. Sending website activity to Meta for advertising may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out at any time (see Your privacy choices), and we honor the Global Privacy Control signal: if your browser sends it, those tools are not loaded.

Your privacy choices

To turn off analytics and advertising cookies in this browser:

You can also decline cookies on our banner, use a browser with Global Privacy Control enabled, or contact us. To stop marketing texts reply STOP; to stop marketing emails use the unsubscribe link or contact us.

Your California privacy rights

California residents may ask us to: tell them what personal information we have collected about them, its sources, our purposes and who we disclosed it to; give them a copy of it; correct inaccurate information; delete it (subject to exceptions, such as records we must keep for warranties, permits or the law); and stop “sharing” it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use sensitive information (such as Social Security or financial-account numbers) only to process the application you gave it for, and not to infer characteristics about you.

To make a request, email contact@advancedconservationsystems.com or call (661) 945-4545. We will verify your identity by matching information we already hold, respond within 45 days, and not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask the agent for proof of your permission.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above — generally for the life of your project and the warranties on your system, and as long as the law requires us to keep business and contracting records. Utility usage data follows the shorter 12-month rule described above.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls. Passwords for customer accounts are handled by a secure authentication provider and are never stored on this website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Our website and services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed; significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
